Two men were arrested Saturday morning and a third suspect is at large during an ongoing assault investigation in Penetanguishene. Southern Georgian Bay OPP officers reported receiving a call about a man laying on the road near the Main and Poyntz Street intersection just before 11 p.m. on May 11 . Police say the 37-year-old local man appeared to be suffering from trauma to his body. Simcoe County paramedics rushed him to an area hospital and he was later transported to a Toronto area trauma centre for treatment. The victims condition has not been updated. As a result of the ongoing investigation, one man was charged with aggravated assault while another man was charged with aggravated assault and accessory after the fact to commit indictable offence. An Ontario wide warrant was sent out for a third suspect from Midland, Michael Edward Haggart, 35, who is wanted for aggravated assault. Police say the man is known to be violent, armed and dangerous. Police are warning the public to not approach the man and to call police if anyone knows his whereabouts. At the same time, police believe that the original incident was isolated and there is no further danger to the public. With files from CTV’s Kim Phillips.
