Dark smoke could be seen billowing from Highway 11 in Kilworthy in the early hours of the morning. Just after 3 a.m.. Wednesday, police were called to a garbage truck fire producing heavy smoke. Officers say one southbound lane was blocked on the highway between Kilworthy Road and Rainbow Circle. Crews worked to put out the blaze and around 7:50 a.m., all roads had reopened. No injuries have been reported and it’s unclear what caused the fire. Police say the investigation remains ongoing.
