A Bradford man and local company have been charged after South Simcoe police saw a truck and trailer driving with a load that allegedly wasn’t properly secured. On Monday at around 2:45 p.m. in Innisfil, an officer pulled over the trailer and did an inspection. They found there were several safety concerns, including a broken suspension component police say caused the tires to make contact with the trailer. Police say this creates a risk of tire failure, resulting in potentially losing control of the vehicle. According to police, the trailer didn’t have proper brakes and the driver couldn’t provide needed-paper work for the truck and trailer. The officer say they deemed the trailer unsafe, removed its licence plate and took it off the roads. “An unsafe vehicle can quickly become a serious danger to everyone on our roads,” South Simcoe police say. The man, 46, along with the company located in Keswick, were charged with improper brakes on a trailer and commercial motor vehicle and failure to ensure performance standards are met.
