A structure fire Monday morning in Dufferin County was determined to be non-suspicious, police say. Around 8 a.m., police closed County Road 109 between County Road 5 and Amaranth–East Luther Townline, as well as County Road 25 between Watson Road and County Road 109. Residents and early-morning commuters were asked to avoid the area and use alternate routes while emergency personnel worked to contain the blaze. Grand Valley and District Fire Department and other emergency crews responded to the fire. Photos released by police showed heavy smoke coming from a building with multiple fire trucks surrounding the closed intersection. It remains unclear how the fire started or how much damage has been caused. All roads have since reopened.
