Bill Snow along with dozens of his closest friends celebrated his 104th birthday at the Barrie Legion. Snow served in the Canadian artillery during the Second World War. “I was thinking a few people would come but nothing like this,” said Snow. Ontario Premier Doug Ford also joined in the celebration. “I remember coming here not too long ago, and I was telling Bill, I promise that I will come back. And you know what I always say in politics? Promises made, promises kept,” said Ford. “Well, you have quite a celebration here.” Barrie Mayor Alex Nuttall was also in attendance along with provincial and federal government representation as well. In honour of Snow’s 104th birthday, the Barrie Legion purchased a brick at Juno Beach and Snow’s name will be engraved on it on November 11. A replica brick will also be sent to Snow and his family.
