It was a spectacular ending to The Amazing Race Canada season 11 finale. The eventual winners, Jesse and Jonathon, outlasted their competition in a cross-country race that wrapped up with a finale right in our own backyard. This moment was captured at Osler Bluff Ski Club in the scenic Blue Mountains. Another local landmark made its appearance: The Collingwood Grain Terminal. Fans of the show quickly noticed the local connection, which also included famous stops at Valley Ridge Family Farm. Andrea Sciberras-Synnott, a local to the area, said it’s great to see these local special spots being showcased. Collingwood Mayor Yvonne Hamlin added, “It’s just so energizing and exciting for our community.” Collingwood was one of several local locations featured in the show, and the mayor hopes the exposure will bring even more visitors to the town. Karen Ferri’s Apple Orchard was also one of the stops on the finale. “It was very hard, I must admit, to keep a secret for that many months but it was well worth it in the end,” shared Karen Ferri. “They had to bob for apples. Each apple had a sticker with a number, and they had to come up with a total count of exactly 100.” Blue Mountain Resort was another landmark in the show. Tara Lovell with Blue Mountain Resort adding, “To showcase what is one of our favourite things to do, getting outside and having an adventure across the nation is pretty spectacular.” Filming for this season took place from April to May, covering five provinces and one territory spanning over 19,000 kilometers.
