A senior is dead following a crash with a school bus on a major road in Caledon. The two-vehicle collision happened just past noon on Mayfield Road west of Innis Lake Road. Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) say a school bus carrying eight people, six of which were students, collided with a sedan operated by a 78-year-old driver who was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say the other two people were the driver and an employee of the bus company. The operator of the school bus was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and officers confirm no passengers on the bus were hurt. Mayfield Road between Innis Lake Road and Airport Road remains closed while the OPP continues to investigate the cause. Motorists are being urged to avoid the area and use alternate routes. At the time, there is no estimate for when the road will reopen.
