Owen Sound Police have charged a man with attempted murder for an incident that began as an assault. On Tuesday, Owen Sound police attended a call for an altercation at a residence in the city’s west end, around 11 a.m. Police say during the scuffle, a man assaulted his roommate with a knife. According to police, emergency medical assistance was needed to transport the victim to Brightshores Health System. The victim suffered multiple lacerations, police say, one of which required surgery, but the injuries were not considered life-altering or permanent. Police have since arrested and charged a 42-year-old Owen Sound man with attempted murder. The accused remains in custody and police say there is no ongoing threat to public safety.
