Getting a ride when you want to. After a two-year wait, Orangeville riders will finally take to the streets by new transit. Within two weeks, riders will can climb into new buses on the road and take advantage of the new stops added along the Orange route in the Veteran’s Way community. “Good things come to those who wait,” said Orangeville’s Tony Dulisse, manager of transportation and development. “Two years after beginning the order process, we are excited to introduce three new buses that will modernize Orangeville Transit’s fleet.” “The new buses were built by a Canadian manufacturer,” he said. The new buses focus on accessibility, sustainability and improved service. Features include: “Transit is a vital service in our community, connecting people to workplaces, schools, essential services, activities and loved ones,” said David Smith, CAO. “Orangeville is changing and evolving every day, and our transit service needs to reflect that with ongoing improvements. Now more of our community will be able to access transit on reliable buses that meet the different needs of our riders.” When Hansen Boulevard’s extension opened in August, the town was able to add new transit stops to the Veteran’s Way community along that road. Other stops have shifted nearby to accommodate this new part of the orange route. New stops added: Stops removed: Updated route maps and schedules will be posted at transit shelters and available online, as well as through the transit app.
