An Orillia Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer with 18 years of service has been arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. Provincial police stopped a vehicle on Line 5 North, between 15-16 Sideroad West and Old Barrie Road West, in Oro-Medonte on August 28 at around 1 a.m. As a result of the OPP’s investigation, William Lucia, 43, of Simcoe County, was charged with operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus). The investigation revealed that the OPP Detective Constable with 18 years of service assigned to General Headquarters in Orillia, was off duty at the time of the incident. He is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orillia on Tuesday, Oct. 13. Anyone with information regarding this investigation should contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
