A 19-year-old woman is fighting for her life after hitting a hydro pole in the middle of the night. Police tell CTV News at around 2:30 a.m. on Monday, officers responded to a crash involving one vehicle on Southwood Road in Gravenhurst. According to Orillia OPP, the woman, who was the driver, had life-threatening injuries and was airlifted by Ornge to a trauma centre in Toronto. The passenger, a 20-year-old man, had non-life-threatening injuries but was sent to a local hospital. Southwood Road between Canning Road and Sparrow Lake Route D Road remains closed while crews repair the hydro pole that was struck. Police say the road is expected to be closed for several more hours. The investigation remains ongoing.
