The Town of New Tecumseth has welcomed its first fulltime fire crew as of Monday. The town says by having a dedicated fulltime crew, it will have faster response times, strengthen daytime emergency coverage and be able to better serve the public. “Welcoming New Tecumseth Fire Rescue’s first fulltime crew is a proud moment for our municipality and demonstrates our ongoing dedication to protecting residents, supporting our firefighters and building a stronger, more resilient community for generations to come,” said Mayor Richard Norcross. The newly minted team includes Captain Shawn Coote and firefighters Bill Wade, Cameron Burnley and Trevor Sponagle. The full-time crew will be temporarily based at station one while construction at station four is completed.
