A recent study has reinforced what we already know which is how lucky we are to live in Simcoe County. The study named Barrie the second best city to live in, just behind Kelowna, BC. The digital marketing agency dNOVO group, based in Toronto, conducted the study considering things like overall liveability with a focus on sustainability, financial stability and personal safety. It ranked various Canadian cities calculating safety index, disposable income, quality of life, pollution index and attractions. Six of the top ten best cities to live in are right here in Ontario. Barrie is a year-round destination with beaches, ski slopes, hiking trails and cycling routes. Tourism Barrie says it has some advantages like it’s close to Toronto to enjoy some city life, but also not far from Muskoka for some rural fun. It is also the hub of Simcoe and Muskoka. The city is continually growing, projected to double in size in the next 25 years.
