Barrie police say an incident downtown on Saturday night sent one woman to hospital. When officers arrived at the area of Maple Avenue late Saturday, police say they found an injured 54-year-old woman. Police say she appeared to have stab wounds. She was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, police say. On Sunday morning, Barrie police arrested a 41-year-old man in connection with the incident. Police say the two were known to each other and are believed to have been involved in a dispute. Police charged the man with assault causing bodily harm. An investigation into the matter is ongoing, police say.
