A Wiarton man is facing several charges after allegedly threatening people with a machete in Owen Sound late Thursday night. Police were called to the area of 9th Street West and 1st Avenue West around 11 p.m. after reports of a man threatening others with a weapon. Officers arrested a 63-year-old shortly after arriving. He has been charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, uttering threats to cause death, assault with a weapon and possession of methamphetamine. No injuries were reported in the midst. Police say the accused is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
