Police are asking for the public’s help after a suspected identity fraud case stretched from Ontario to British Columbia and ended with the purchase of a luxury vehicle. Nottawasaga officers started investigating after a victim’s personal information was allegedly stolen to create a fraudulent ID, which was then used to open a credit card and later buy an expensive vehicle. According to police, the investigation began on Nov. 27, 2025, when officers received a call from a person reporting identity fraud. Investigators allege the victim’s information had been used to create a fake identification card. Police say that ID was used at a bank in the Town of New Tecumseth, Ont., to open a credit card in the victim’s name. Just a few days later investigators say the same ID was used again, this time in Surrey, B.C., to purchase a luxury vehicle. OPP is now asking people who may recognize this suspect to come forward. Anyone with information is asked to contact Nottawasaga police.
