Multiple outages have been reported in Central Ontario. Trees falling on hydro lines under the weight of the ice is keeping police and Hydro One workers busy. Hydro One says on its Outages page: If outages occur in your area, it’s critical to stay safe by remaining far away from any fallen power lines, at least 10 metres back, and reporting them to 911 and Hydro One. Hydro One says: “Crews are responding as quickly and safely as possible to outages caused by freezing rain, snow and high winds as weather moves across the province. In some areas, restoration efforts may be delayed due to challenging driving conditions.” Hydro One customers can report outages by texting 92887 (WATTS) or through the Outage Map at Outage Tools | Hydro One Hydro One says on website: “We are closely monitoring the weather and our crews are ready to get the lights back on for our customers,” said . “Customers are encouraged to prepare for the possibility of an extended power outage. This includes restocking their emergency kit with items like water, nonperishable food and cash.”
