A child sorting through candy collected while trick-or-treating made a disturbing discovery after breaking apart a chocolate bar and finding a small metal pin hidden inside, police say. The incident was reported to the Huntsville Ontario Provincial Police detachment on Sunday, the night after Halloween. Fortunately, the child was not injured in the midst. Officers say no other incidents have been reported and the discovery appears to be isolated. Police did not release any photos of the chocolate bar or the pin. Parents in Huntsville and Lake of Bays are being reminded to carefully inspect their children’s Halloween candy. Anyone who makes a similar discovery is asked to contact police.
