According to fuel price predictions from Dan McTeague, president of Canadians for Affordable Energy, the price of regular gas in the city is expected to rise by 8 cents per litre, reaching 190.9 cents per litre on Thursday. The projected spike follows Wednesday’s average price of 182.9 cents per litre. Premium gas is expected to jump by 10 cents per litre to 222.9 cents per litre, while diesel prices are reaching 15 cents per litre, sitting at 268.9. These predictions are based on more than three decades of energy industry analysis by McTeague, a former Member of Parliament. Drivers looking to save money may want to fill their tanks before the price hike takes effect overnight.
