An Ontario Trillium Foundation’s (OTF) capital grant has been accessed to help perform upgrades on five Simcoe-Grey facilities. “Yay OTF,” said Katherine Killam, executive director of Camphill Communities. “We are incredibly grateful for the capital grant. It allows us to rejuvenate our performing arts centre.” Killam said Camphill supports between 75 to 100 people with special needs. Last year it received a seed grant to upgrade its Novalis Hall to enable the centre to offer more accessible arts and culture programs. Simcoe-Grey MPP Brian Saunderson said strong communities depend on local organizations close to home. “This important provincial investment will help five recipients across Simcoe-Grey improve their facilities and access the equipment they need to better serve our communities,” said Saunderson. Organizations in Simcoe-Grey include: OTF’s Capital grants help organizations upgrade their infrastructure so they can continue delivering programs and services for Ontarians. The funds will be used to purchase equipment, build a new space or complete renovations, retrofits or repairs. “Non-profit organizations across Ontario are delivering critical programming that helps people train for new careers, stay active, learn new skills and connect with their communities,” said Zee Hamid, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Gaming. “Our investment will help modernize and improve the spaces these organizations rely on so they can continue delivering the services that strengthen communities and drive local economic growth.”
