Environment Canada’s forecast for Tuesday tells a torrid tale. Early morning snow squalls are expected to turn to gentle flurries around noon, however, the weather agency states there’s a risk of more snow squalls early this afternoon. Barrie is only looking at 15 centimetres accumulation, yet with the wind estimated to be blowing between 50 kilometres per hour to 70 km/h, visibility at times will be next to nil. The high temperature forecasted for today is -7 Celsius, but with the wind chill factored in, we can expect to feel -22C this morning and -16C in the afternoon. Tonight is a mix of the same. Flurries, local snow squalls, and blowing snow leading to white outs. Snow might amount to 10 to 15 cms and winds will gust between 30 km/h to 50 becoming light after midnight. The weather agency says the temperatures will remain steady at -8C and wind chill -16C.
