A historic Severn bowling alley and laundromat is left closed, after a Wednesday afternoon fire. Severn township tells CTV that the fire department responded to the a call for an electrical outdoor fire and possible structure fire at Coldwater Bowling Centre/Laundromat just before noon. Emergency crews arrived to the scene of smoke coming from the roof of the north side of the building, according to the township. Firefighters entered the laundromat and located a fire inside the north interior wall of the bowling alley, in an area that used to be a window. Crews are said to have made quick work on containing the fire to the office, kitchen and bar area, however, smoke had already spread through most of the building. The township says it took two fire stations and assistance from nearby Tay Township to extinguish the blaze. Damage is considering to be limited with a possibility of electrical damage near the fire’s point of origin. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
