Get out your calendars because more shows have been added to Casino Rama’s concert lineup this year with something for everyone’s musical tastes. More rock is slated to kick off the summer. Matthew Good and I Mother Earth – May 29 at 8 p.m. For those looking for a little ‘90s alt rock nostalgia, this one’s for you. Matthew Good and his band with I Mother Earth will hit the stage on May 29. Matthew Good was the lead singer and songwriter for the Matthew Good Band, a Canadian alternative rock band prominent in the 1990s and early 2000s. Since then, Good started a solo career including advocating for mental health. Good has won four JUNO awards in his career. He has recently teamed up to tour with Canadian rock band I Mother Earth. Matthew Good is known for hits like “Apparitions” and “Hello Time Bomb.” Some of I Mother Earth’s hits include “One More Astronaut” and “Another Sunday.” Tribute Bands A couple of tribute bands are set take the stage including Man in Black: A Tribute to Johnny Cash on June 7 at 7 p.m. and Direct from Sweden: The Music of ABBA on June 27 at 8 p.m. Sebastian Bach with Slaughter – June 19 at 9 p.m. Sebastian Bach, former frontman of the hard rock band Skid Row, will perform with glam metal band Slaughter. Bach is known for hits like “Youth Gone Wild,” “Monkey Business” and “I Remember You.” Prominent hits from Slaughter include “Up All Night” and “Fly to the Angels.” Ice Cube – June 26 at 9 p.m. Rap fans will be excited to know American rapper and songwriter Ice Cube. His work on the album Straight Outta Compton for hip-hop group N.W.A., was instrumental in putting rap music on the map and gaining traction around the globe. The rapper is also a film producer who produced the award-winning, Oscar-nominated biopic “Straight Outta Compton.” He’s also behind movies like 21 Jump Street and Are We There Yet? Celtic Thunder – Sept. 4 at 9 p.m. Those who are into theatrics and Irish music, get ready for Irish singing-group Celtic Thunder. The group’s setlist includes songs ranging from the traditional to international hits with some original songs sprinkled in. Josh Ross – Sept. 25 at 9 p.m. For country fans, Canadian country music singer and songwriter Josh Ross, known for hits like “First Taste of Gone.” He has been in several music competitions including the Boots and Hearts Emerging Artist Showcase and the Magna Hoedown in Aurora.
