Although milder conditions greeted the residents of Barrie on Wednesday morning, things are expected to change throughout the day. The morning started off at 12 C, nearly 10 C warmer than Tuesday, but with the warmth comes a chance of precipitation. Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) says there is a 40 per cent change of precipitation between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. Chances of precipitation decrease slightly to 20 per cent but increase again after 8 p.m. During the afternoon hours, ECCC says there is also a risk of thunderstorms. Additionally, ECCC warns residents can expect southwesterly winds gusting from 30 to 50 km/h throughout the day. Wednesday’s daytime high is an estimated 19 C and the overnight low is 8 C, both above seasonal temperatures. Cloudy conditions are expected for most of the day, with a UV index rating of four.
