Dufferin Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged eight people and seized drugs following a drug trafficking investigation in Dufferin County. Dufferin’s Community Street Crime Unit began an investigation in April into the trafficking drugs in Dufferin. Six places in East Garafraxa, Amaranth, Orangeville, Etobicoke and Innisfil were identified as being involved in the trafficking of suspected cocaine and fentanyl. On September 11, members of the Dufferin CSCU, assisted by the Caledon, Muskoka, Collingwood and Nottawasaga CSCUs, executed three raids at the above locations. On September 29, the crime unit, assisted by the Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU), arrested an Etobicoke man. Officers were then able to execute three more search warrants at locations in Etobicoke and Innisfil. During the execution of those warrants, two other people were also arrested.
