The opportunities for creativity will be endless as Bradford West Gwillimbury Library is unveiling its brand new creative lab on Tuesday night. The Creative Lab is a makerspace (a modern workspace usually filled with various tools and machines for creative making), that houses cutting-edge technology and traditional crafting tools. The Bradford Library Creative Lab will give the public access to 3D design and printing for making things like cookie cutters and cake toppers. It will also offer custom crafting like making greeting cards using a Cricut machine. A sewing machine will be on hand for making and designing clothing. There will be the opportunity for patrons to expand their digital media literacy skills in the media section of the lab. They can convert analog technology into digital media such as VHS tapes, audio cassettes, and records. Photo and video editing will be possible using high-end software like Adobe Creative Cloud. Along with robotics kits for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) learning, kids who are keeners can drop in to the lab every other Saturday for a Tinker Time session with a staff member and play with different robotics and coding tools. The grand reopening will be from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Bradford West Gwillimbury Library.
