Mike Lang
Journalist, CTV News Barrie
Mike joined CTV News Barrie in January 2024 as a video journalist. He grew up in Montreal with a passion for watching Canadiens games on RDS, which is what first inspired him to pursue a career in broadcasting. He began working toward that ambition by attending the College of Sports Media during the pandemic, and graduated in 2022. Mike spent that summer at TSN as a story editor for SportsCentre and SC with Jay Onrait, which further ignited his desire to work on-air. He moved across Ontario for his first reporter position with Thunder Bay Television (TBT), eventually becoming TBT's lead sports anchor. As part of the CTV News Barrie team, Mike has covered a wide range of news stories, including provincial and federal elections, the historic 2024-25 winter and ice storms in central Ontario, and Premier Doug Ford's visit to Wasaga Beach. As a former competitive athlete, Mike is also passionate about health and fitness, working as a personal trainer in the Toronto area for six years. Most of his spare time is still spent working out and following sports, but he always finds time to visit his family and friends. Mike speaks English and French.
