There are bound to be many memorable moments from a nearly four-hour Academy Awards telecast, but a snapshot from one viewer’s television screen supplied one of the night’s most viral images.

Actor Jared Leto, who has received much attention in recent years for his long locks, presented the best supporting actress trophy to ‘Boyhood’ star Patricia Arquette.

As Arquette gave her acceptance speech, one eagle-eyed viewer snapped a shot of his TV screen, where Leto was framed in soft focus looking on from behind.

“Rare photo of Jesus blessing Patricia Arquette during her acceptance speech,” user Tim Lyzen tweeted with the photo.

In a funny coincidence -- or was it? -- Arquette whispers “Jesus” after Leto hands her the statuette and she starts to unfold the paper containing her speech.

Lyzen’s tweet was re-tweeted more than 11,000 times and received more than 10,000 favourites.

While that qualifies the tweet as viral by most standards, it didn’t come close to breaking last year’s retweet record-setter. Host Ellen DeGeneres’s celebrity selfie was retweeted more than 3.3 million times and received more than 2 million favourites.
