French carmaker Peugeot announced that it will present an original sports car concept in a world premiere at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show. The new concept is described as the successor to the Onyx, introduced at the Paris Motor Show in 2012.

Peugeot has not provided the specifications of this new five-seat concept car other than its dimensions. The design and the materials used, meanwhile, will represent the brand's vision for the future.

The concept is described as a variation on the Onyx concept, presented at the 2012 Paris Motor Show, which had a hybrid V8 engine and total power of 600hp. From January 29 to February 2 of this year, the Onyx will go on display to the public once again in Paris in the "Concept Cars" exhibit, part of the International Automobile Festival.

According to rumors ahead of the Beijing Motor Show, Peugeot could also present the 6008, a future luxury SUV designed for sale in Asian markets.

The 13th Beijing Motor Show will take place April 20-29, 2014.
