TORONTO - Acclaimed author Margaret Atwood, newly elected Liberal MP Bob Rae and Irish novelist Colm Toibin will form the jury for the 2008 Scotiabank Giller Prize.

The award, founded by businessman Jack Rabinovitch in honour of his late wife Doris Giller, is celebrating its 15th anniversary. This year, the Giller has increased its prize money from $50,000 to $70,000, with $50,000 going to the winner and $5,000 to each finalist.

The longlist will be announced in September, with the shortlist set to come out October 7.

The awards ceremony itself will take place Nov. 11.
