Prince Edward Island is asking residents of Savage Harbour to help choose a new name for their community as part of a wider provincial effort to remove derogatory place names. The government says three in-person engagement sessions for community residents will be held in October, November and December. Participants will be able to suggest potential new names and vote of the final title for the area. People can also submit name suggestions electronically at the Geographic Naming and Renaming Program from Oct. 16 to 29. For more P.E.I. news, visit our dedicated provincial page.
