P.E.I. announces funding for projects focused on women and girls

Non-profit organizations in Prince Edward Island can apply for the Interministerial Women’s Secretariat Grant to implement projects that will benefit women and girls in the province.

“We are committed to building communities where gender biases are dismantled and women and girls are supported to reach their full potential,” said Barb Ramsay, minister of Social Development and Seniors and the minister responsible for the Status of Women. “Through the Interministerial Women’s Secretariat Grant, we’re strengthening the overall well‑being of women and girls across the Island, fostering a culture of inclusivity, empowerment, and opportunity.”

The grant’s objectives include:

• supporting organizations that deliver services to women and girls with project funding
• supporting projects that raise awareness, educate or create social action that advances the legal, medical, social and economic equality for women and girls.
• supporting organizations that promote women’s right through advocacy, research and policy developments.

The deadline to apply for the grant is April 24. Information about the grant is available on the province’s website.
