A new paramedic station is set to open in eastern Prince Edward Island next year. Paramedic services in Montague will move to a new 4,440 square-foot facility once construction is done. It is set to replace the current 2,640 square-foot building on MacIntyre Avenue. The province says the extra space will allow for vehicle storage, drive-through bays and a shared space for the Mobile Mental Health program. The new station will also include a backup generator to keep essential services running during emergencies. “The new Montague station will provide paramedics with a modern facility designed to support their work, wellbeing and ability to respond safely and efficiently when Islanders need care,” says Health Minister Cory Deagle. “By almost doubling the size of the current station, we are creating additional space to support emergency response operations and the growing needs of the communities they serve.” A new paramedic station opened in O’Leary in June 2025 after a fire destroyed the old one. Construction on the new Montague station is expected to be complete in spring 2027. For more P.E.I. news, visit our dedicated provincial page.
