Police say a man is facing charges following an incident outside a strip mall in Summerside, P.E.I., Monday afternoon. Someone called 911 to report a man had a gun in a Granville Street parking lot around 4:15 p.m. Police say the suspect fled the scene by the time they arrived. The victim and suspect are known to each other and reportedly had “previous conflict.” Police say they both coincidentally arrived at the same business and an argument took place. The suspect allegedly showed a handgun and pointed it at the victim before fleeing in a waiting vehicle. Police say there were no injuries. The suspect was found at a home on Tanton Drive and was taken into custody around 6:30 p.m. The 39-year-old Summerside man was held in custody and will appear in court Tuesday to answer to charges, including: The incident remains under investigation.
