Human remains found after fire destroys home: P.E.I. RCMP

The Prince Edward Island RCMP says human remains were found after a fire destroyed a home in Mount Herbert Friday night.

Emergency crews responded to the reported house fire around 8:45 p.m. The building was entirely destroyed, according to a news release.

“Following efforts to extinguish the blaze, it was determined that human remains of one individual were located inside the home,” the release reads.

The cause of the fire and the circumstances of the death are under investigation, but at this time police do not believe the incident is suspicious.
