A youth is facing almost a dozen charges, including robbery and assault, after two separate incidents involving the same victim on Halifax Transit buses earlier this month. Police say the first incident happened in Westphal the afternoon of Jan. 15. A youth was allegedly approached by another youth who showed a weapon and demanded the victim’s jacket. Police say the suspect got off the bus with the jacket. The victim was not injured. The second incident reportedly happened just before 9 p.m. on Jan. 17, also on a bus in Westphal. Police say the robbery involved the same victim as the first incident. “The suspect again approached the victim and threatened harm if they did not surrender their cell phone. With assistance from a bystander, the victim was able to exit the bus uninjured,” reads a news release from the RCMP. Officers arrested the suspect in Cole Harbour last Friday. Police say they were wearing the victim’s jacket and had the weapon that was used in both robberies. Both items were seized. The youth is facing the following charges: They were held in custody and are scheduled to appear in Dartmouth provincial court on Tuesday.
