A 28-year-old woman has been charged with multiple impaired driving offences following a fatal off-road crash last year in Forties, N.S. Lunenburg District RCMP responded to a report of a Polaris side-by-side crash on a logging road near the 1100 block of Forties Road around 7:10 p.m. on May 27, 2024. Police say there were four people in the side-by-side, including an infant from Forties who died after being taken to hospital. Another child suffered minor injuries and the two adults, a 27-year-old female driver from Forties and a 52-year-old male passenger from New Ross, suffered serious injuries. “Through blood analysis, it was established that the driver’s blood alcohol concentration was more than twice the legal limit at the time of the crash,” reads a news release from the Nova Scotia RCMP. An RCMP collision reconstructionist and the RCMP’s National Forensic Laboratory Services supported the investigation that led to the arrest of Madisyn Elizabeth Parker, 28, on Wednesday. She has been charged with: Parker has appeared in court and was released on conditions. She’s scheduled to return in Bridgewater provincial court on July 2. The investigation is ongoing.
