Traffic delays expected as crews work on Burnside Drive intersection in Dartmouth, N.S.

Drivers who use a Burnside Drive intersection in Dartmouth, N.S., are being told to expect traffic delays for the next few weeks.

Crews will be working on active transportation improvements at the intersection of Burnside Drive, Ronald Smith Avenue and Commodore Drive starting the week of Sept. 21.

Some of the work includes:

• upgrades to the intersection
• new sidewalks, pathways and pedestrian crossings
• new traffic signals
• landscaping
• updates to road markings

The work will run from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. on weekdays and from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekends.

The work is expected to wrap up in late fall or early winter of this year, according to a news release from the Halifax Regional Municipality.

Drivers are asked to use alternative routes when possible.
