Three people are facing 32 charges after the SPCA seized 27 animals from two homes in Centre Burlington, N.S., in September 2025. The SPCA says investigators were executing simultaneous warrants on the homes as part of an investigation when the animals – 21 dogs and six cats – were seized. Fourteen animals were seized from one home and 13 from the second. Tasha Nicole Farmer, 45, has been charged with the following 19 offences under the Animal Protection Act: Christopher Clark, 52, has been charged with seven counts of permitting an animal to be in distress. Russell Salter, 51, has been charged with six counts of permitting an animal to be in distress. The accused are due to appear in Shubenacadie provincial court on May 11.
