Six communities across Nova Scotia are set to receive nearly one million dollars to support local public transit. The province says $925,000 from the Public Transit Assistance Program will help municipalities and community organizations that operate a fixed-route service buy vehicles, bus terminals, shelters and other assets. Tidal Transit Authority in western Annapolis Valley is set to receive $375,000. “Provincial funding through the Public Transit Assistance Program supports the ongoing renewal and modernization of the Tidal Transit system. This investment helps support safe, reliable and accessible transit for the communities we serve across western Nova Scotia,” said Meg Hodges, Tidal Transit’s general manager in a provincial news release.
