The search for two missing children from Nova Scotia’s Pictou County has entered a third day. Six-year-old Lily Sullivan and four-year-old Jack Sullivan were reported missing around 10 a.m. Friday. They were last seen on Gairloch Road in Lansdowne Station. Police describe Lily Sullivan as having shoulder-length light brown hair with bangs. The force said she might be wearing a pink sweater, pink pants, and pink boots. Lily may also have a white backpack with her. Jack Sullivan has short blondish hair and was wearing blue dinosaur boots. Police said no other clothing description is available at this time. The search team has been focusing on a 3.5 kilometre radius of the Pictou County forest, using ribbons to track the ground that has been covered. ‘I want them home’ On Saturday, their mother Malehya Brooks-Murray pleaded for their safe return. “I’m just staying as hopeful as possible. I want them home. I want to hold them, and I want them home,” she told CTV News. “When they’re found it will be the biggest relief to hug them.” Police have sent out two vulnerable person alerts; one on Friday for the immediate area, and another for a wider area on Saturday. “There’s no information to suggest they were abducted,” said RCMP Cpl. Sally Rice on Saturday. “Based on what we know, it appears they wandered off. The search will continue until we receive any new evidence that changes our direction.” Multiple agencies on the ground On Sunday, RCMP told CTV News search efforts are ongoing. Police said the searches went on through Saturday night, as they had on Friday. “Ground search and rescue team members and officers who were on scene overnight have been relieved by new volunteers and officers from agencies involved to allow for refreshed searches to continue as necessary,” RCMP said in an email to CTV News. Multiple agencies are taking part in the search, including ground search and rescue teams, the Civil Air Search and Rescue Association, the Department of Natural Resources Air Services, and several RCMP units. On Saturday, around 160 people were helping in the search.
