As the Nova Scotia government gears up for next year’s budget deliberations, it’s asking the public for their opinion. The province is seeking input on the 2027-2028 budget through a series of in-person and virtual meetings this fall. “As Bluenosers, we need to talk about the challenges we’re facing, along with the opportunities ahead,” said Premier Tim Houston in a news release. “This won’t be a typical, town-hall style consultation. We’ll give Nova Scotians the information they need to help build their own budget, one that reflects their priorities and shows us the trade-offs they’re willing to make to support them.” The 2026-2027 budget had a forecasted $1.2-billion deficit.
