A 39-year-old man is facing multiple charges in connection with an armed robbery at a downtown Halifax convenience store on Monday morning. Officers responded to a robbery in progress at Crystal’s Convenience store at 1268 Hollis Street around 9:40 a.m., according to a news release from Halifax Regional Police. The officers learned two men with firearms entered the store and demanded money and product. They allegedly assaulted a staff member before fleeing the scene on foot with cash and cigarettes. The staff member suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Police arrested one of the suspects in the area and they are still looking for the other man. Joshua Mitchell Zinck is facing charges of: -robbery with offensive weapon -possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace -assault -pointing a firearm -unauthorized possession of a firearm -possession of a firearm with no licence or certificate -carrying a concealed weapon -unsafe storage of a firearm -use of a firearm in commission of an offence -uttering threats to cause bodily harm or death -storing a firearm or restricted weapon contrary to regulations -possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm -possession of a firearm prohibited or restricted weapon obtained by crime -resisting arrest -four counts of possession of a firearm contrary to order -two counts of failure to comply with conditions or release Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call police at 902-490-5020, or anonymously contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca.
