The RCMP in Cape Breton has charged a Glace Bay, N.S., man with multiple counterfeiting, firearm and drug offences following a nine-month investigation into the possession and imports of counterfeit Canadian currency. The investigation began in January after the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) intercepted more than $30,000 in fake Canadian bank notes. CBSA also seized holographic security stickers, which were bound for an address in Glace Bay. CBSA reported the seizures to police. The RCMP executed a search warrant at a Glace Bay residence on Feb. 11. Officers seized more than $80,000 in counterfeit money, electronic devices, a firearm, unlabelled prescription pills and other items.
