Acadia University and its faculty association have reached a tentative three-year agreement which is expected to be ratified in the coming weeks. The university said the 17th collective bargaining agreement will “improve overall processes and enhance working conditions.” The 16th agreement ran from 2021 to 2025. “This accomplishment is particularly noteworthy, as it is the first time in many years that an amicable tentative agreement was reached without external intervention,” a news release from the university reads. The agreement will be effective from July 1, 2025. “Maintaining an amicable, fair, and collaborative process was a top priority during this negotiation,” said Dr. Jeff Hennessy, president of the university, in the release. “I am delighted to see these two groups have achieved this shared goal.” For more Nova Scotia news, visit our dedicated provincial page
