The Saint John Police Force is notifying the public of an active investigation following alleged “offences of a sexual nature” at a senior care facility. Police received information about the offences from the care facility on Wednesday and procedures were implemented to address further safety concerns, said a news release. Police said they believe there are multiple victims and the suspect’s identity is known. Families of affected residents have been informed. The Saint John Police Family Protection Unit is gathering information for their investigation and the senior care facility is fully cooperating, said the release. To protect the privacy of the families no further details will be released at this time but information will be available as the investigation progresses, said the release.
