New Brunswick vehicles will no longer require registration stickers, although drivers will still have to renew their vehicle registration annually. The provincial government says legislative changes to the Motor Vehicle Act and related regulations, which went into effect Wednesday, will remove the sticker requirement for passenger, commercial and off-road vehicles. “Removing licence plate registration stickers is a practical step that reflects how technology has evolved and how we deliver services today,” said Local Government Minister Aaron Kennedy, who is also minister responsible for Service New Brunswick, in a news release. “This change will make the process more convenient for New Brunswickers while simplifying the administrative process and reducing costs.” Law enforcement will check the registration status of vehicles electronically.
