New Brunswick supports expansion of specialty health-care company

A Moncton-based medical company that treats patients with chronic illnesses and rare diseases will create up to 30 full-time jobs by the end of 2027 with provincial government support.

Opportunities NB will provide up to $230,000 to BioScript Solutions in the form of a payroll rebate to support the new jobs, said a provincial news release. The expansion is expected to generate more than $4 million in provincial GDP, said the province.

“With strong programming at institutions like the New Brunswick Community College helping to build the talent pipeline, New Brunswick is leading the way in this growing sector,” said Luke Randall, minister responsible for Opportunities NB.

Positions will be available in finance, information technology, project management, operations, human resources and other areas of the company, said the news release.

BioScript grew from a single infusion clinic to a national leader in specialty care, said Randall.

The company provides support for complex drug therapies and manages the needs of patients, prescribers and manufacturers. It has built a network that includes 100 Coverdale Infusion Clinics, 14 specialty pharmacies and national patient support programs. It employs more than 1,500 people across Canada.

BioScript was founded in Moncton in 2001.
