A New Brunswick police officer has been charged with sexual offences involving a minor. The Serious Incident Response Team (SiRT) says the Grand Falls Police Force reached out on March 31, 2025, about an active member who had allegedly “engaged in inappropriate contact with a minor.” Following an investigation, SiRT has determined there are “reasonable and probable grounds” to charge the police officer. Const. Paul Lavoie was charged on Tuesday with the following offences: SiRT says the alleged offences happened on or between Feb. 10, 2025 and March 22, 2025. Lavoie is due to appear in Edmundston provincial court on April 7. SiRT is responsible for investigating all serious incidents involving police in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.
