Travellers at two ends of Nova Scotia who were planning to go to Maine or Prince Edward Island Sunday morning will have to wait. The marine weather forecast has impacted sailings. N.S. to Maine Bay Ferries Limited (BFL) said sailings of the CAT ferry have been cancelled Sunday. This includes the 9:30 a.m. departure from Yarmouth, N.S., and the 3 p.m. departure from Bar Harbor, Maine. BFL said the marine weather forecast “indicates winds and a sea state in excess of our limits for safe docking of the vessel and passenger comfort.” It said passengers impacted by this cancellation will be contacted by a Bay Ferries agent to help change their travel plans. N.S. to P.E.I. Northumberland Ferries Limited (NFL) said the early morning departures between Wood Islands, P.E.I., and Caribou, N.S., were cancelled. The impacted routes were the 7 and 8:30 a.m. departures. NFL noted the cancellations were to do the “high wind forecast in the Northumberland Strait.” “We are actively monitoring weather conditions and will provide updates as they become available,” said NFL in a news release Sunday morning. “The safety of our passengers and crew is our overarching value.” According to the NFL website, the 11:45 a.m. departures are on-time.
